Day Break TV - Day Break, a new ABC television drama on Wednesday nights

Thirteen Total Episodes of Day Break

February 5th 2007 02:08
Day Break with Taye Diggs has thirteen episodes total. Six episodes aired on television before ABC cancelled it. Four more episodes were posted on the ABC web site (follow the link that says "Watch Day Break Online Now") this past Monday. We still have three episodes to go before the series is over, so don't worry if you haven't figured out everything.

Day Break Online

January 29th 2007 14:23
Day Break is online this morning at ABC.com. Four new episodes are available as well as the ones that have been aired.

ABC's Day Break page has a link at the bottom right that says "Watch Day Break Online Now. Click Here."

You can follow that link or go directly to the online episodes page. Day Break is not one of the eight television shows listed on that page, but click on "Launch Now" and the option for Day Break will come up.

What a great way to start a week!

Woohoo! ABC has posted on their Day Break page that new episodes will be online on 29 Jan 2007. Finally. And thanks to DayBreaker for the news.

According to abc.com, three new episodes will be posted. These episode descriptions could be considered spoilers, so be warned.

*** Spoiler ***

"What If He's Not Alone" Hopper believes he may have found someone who is inadvertently involved in his never-ending day - and may also be caught in the same, repetitive loop.

"What If She's Lying" Hopper believes that Jennifer is somehow involved in his hellacious day and hiding something from him. In order to find out what she's afraid to admit, he pays a visit to his estranged mother to go through his father's old police files to find a connection.

"What If They're Connected" Hopper discovers that a possible war between two rival gangs may be linked to his framing for the murder of Garza. Meanwhile, he pays a visit to Garza's murder scene and begins to piece together who may have really killed the Assistant District Attorney.

Day Break Online by Late February

January 15th 2007 05:15
Yippee! As reported by Ask Ausiello, the remaining episodes of Day Break will be online by the end of February. Apparently, Ausiello got this straight from ABC president Steve McPherson.

I'll be keeping a watch on ABC.com to see when the episodes finally show up there

Moon Bloodgood

Moon Bloodgood
Moon Bloodgood played Rita Shelten
Moon Bloodgood played Rita Shelten on Day Break. Since Day Break is off the air for good, and I have this domain for an entire year, I thought I'd use it to keep up with the doings of the cast.

Moon Bloodgood appears next in Pathfinder, a movie set in the 800s along the Northeast coast of North America. The fictional plot deals with a conflict between the local Native Americans and Viking raiders. I'm not sure it's been rated yet, but I think it will be rated R, judging by this trailer

The Problem With Serialized Drama

December 28th 2006 06:47
The problem with serialized drama is that the networks won't see them through. People tune in to a pilot episode out of curiosity or as fans of particular actors. It doesn't take many seasons for a viewer to know which new shows are going to make it and which will be pulled before their time.

When I watched the pilot for Day Break, I knew that it wouldn't be renewed, and therefore stood a good chance of being cancelled. It was a show with a limited arc and a definite ending. And that was how ABC designed it--so that it would start when Lost began its hiatus and end with a big mystery-solving finale (and big ratings) right before Lost started up

The Numbers and Good News

December 22nd 2006 05:56
I'll start with the numbers and save the good news for last.

I found the ratings numbers for all the weeks of Day Break on Programming Insider. The previous numbers I quoted came from MediaWeek, but I can't find that page now. The numbers differ a bit

Why Day Break Was Cancelled

December 19th 2006 03:06
ABC cancelled Day Break because numbers kept slipping. It started out with a decent showing, with nearly eleven million people watching the two-hour pilot episode, but lost half its audience by the third episode.

Only 4.5 million viewers tuned in last week. That sounds like a lot of people to me, but ninety-eight shows last week had more viewers

Day Break Cancelled

December 16th 2006 17:07
Well, it's official: Day Break has been cancelled. The article on Yahoo! didn't specify the last day episodes would be shown. I'll check on that soon (after Saturday morning cartoons are over).

In the article, a spokesperson for ABC says it's not clear if or how many of the remaining episodes will be available on the site.
