Taye Diggs plays Brett Hopper
Taye Diggs plays Detective Brett Hopper on Day Break. The actor got his start on Broadway before moving on to movies. Now on television, he is trying out an unusual role for him--that of a brash, physical, leap-before-you-look kind of guy. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he said Hopper is nearly exactly the opposite of his real life persona. He is a gentle, thoughtful, quiet person. I'd say that's the opposite of Hopper, all right. Hopper doesn't do much thinking, although his character is slowly seeing the wisdom in considering human relationships before rushing off to save the day.


The thirty-four year old Diggs is married to Idina Menzel and they live in Manhattan. No children yet.
